Hello everyone.

This is an up-date on "The Jay B. Elston Band ". I have finally started to shake off the dust from this years Hurricane season. Its been a tuff one. My drummer Rory Faciane, that recorded on both my cd's got 6 feet of water in his house on Bayou Liberty . Louisiana. He lost everything. He's planning to move to Nashville, Tenn. Scott Womack, who played bass was lucky enough to sell his house in Mid City New Orleans ( which got flooded ) and moved himself and his family to Austin. Texas. He is doing well and playing Music with the best Austin has to offer. Scott was replaced by long time friend, Rich "Dr. Porkchop" Ward, one of the best bass players in the New Orleans area. He evacuated to Memphis, Tenn. Then to Austin, Texas, playing music wherever he could. He since has moved back to New Orleans and is playing with ole friends of mine " Pig Pen and The Porkchops".I wish all of them the Best . My family and I stayed to the last minute. We were planning on riding out the storm as always. We have never left for a Hurricane. But decided this one doesn't look good. Time to get out. We stayed two weeks with friends in Monroe, Louisiana. Then returning back home to Slidell. I'm glad to say we were truly blessed. We had some roof damage and a lot of trees down, but thats it. The water from the storm surge came three streets from us.Very close. Now for new news. I've formed a new " Jay B. Elston Band" a bigger 5 piece band. On keys and vocals. One of my oldest friends whom I'm glad to be jamming with again. Wayne Lohr. On Drums, Josh Briley. On guitar, Tom Quinlen, Bass guitar, My neighbor, Dean Galatas. We have been playing gigs and looking forward to the future. I'm also happy to say I have been doing shows with one of my old bands " The JJ Muggler Band "( One of the best Southern Rock Bands to come out of the New Orleans area ). I believe cd's for both bands will be happening in the future. Thanks to everyone who gave and helped us durning and after Hurricane Katrina and Rita. Best to you and God Bless .
